KEAT – Pangborn Memorial Airport
Pangborn Memorial Airport in East Wenatchee has been operating in its current location since 1941, with commercial air service since 1945. Alaska Air subsidiary Horizon Air provides several daily flights to/from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (KSEA). The airport is owned and operated by the Chelan-Douglas Regional Port Authority. In addition to commercial operations, there is a vibrant general aviation community at Pangborn with its own terminal, fuel operation and major aircraft-repair station. There are numerous hangars for rent/purchase and a spacious tie-down area for resident and transient aircraft. The general aviation fleet ranges from small homebuilt aircraft through multiengine business jets.
Spirit of Wenatchee was fortunate to have the East Wenatchee Rotary Club purchase a large, business jet-sized hangar for its use to shelter Miss Veedol and provide a base of operations for maintaining the aircraft. The hangar is often the location for school, group and commercial tours and helps SOW continue to share the Pangborn-Herndon story.
